External Email Forwarding Policy

At DesignThat Cloud, our primary focus is to ensure the security, reliability, and reputation of our email services. As such, we have established a policy regarding email forwarding to external addresses.

Policy on External Email Forwarding

DesignThat Cloud does not support email forwarding to external email addresses from our servers. While your accounts can send and receive emails seamlessly, for security and reputation management reasons, we do not permit forwarding emails to addresses outside the user's domain.

Reasons for This Policy

  1. Security:

    • Forwarding emails to external addresses can increase the risk of spam and phishing attacks. By limiting email forwarding, we can better protect our users from potential security threats.

  2. Reputation Management:

    • Forwarding emails to external addresses can sometimes cause legitimate emails to be flagged as spam by other email service providers. This can harm the reputation of our email servers, potentially affecting email deliverability for all our users.

  3. Compliance:

    • Many email providers have strict policies and filters in place to prevent spam and abuse. By controlling email forwarding, we ensure compliance with these policies, thereby maintaining the integrity of our services.

What This Means for Users

  • Sending Emails: You can send emails to any address without restrictions.

  • Receiving Emails: You can receive emails from any address without restrictions.

  • Forwarding Emails: You can set up forwarding within your domain. For example, forwarding from [email protected] to [email protected] is permitted.

  • External Forwarding: Forwarding emails to external domains (e.g., [email protected], [email protected]) is not supported.

Alternative Solutions

For users who require access to emails across multiple platforms or services, we recommend the following alternatives:

  1. IMAP/POP3 Configuration:

    • Configure your email client to access your DesignThat Cloud email via IMAP or POP3. This allows you to manage your emails from multiple devices and platforms.

  2. Email Clients with Multiple Accounts:

    • Use email clients that support multiple accounts. This way, you can manage your DesignThat Cloud emails alongside other email accounts within the same interface.

  3. Third-Party Email Services:

    • If forwarding to external addresses is essential for your operations, consider using third-party email services designed to handle such configurations.
